Dr. Pitzer has been around animals her entire life and has an abundance of experience with all types of species. She was raised on a thoroughbred racehorse farm where she had many pets growing up. Helping animals comes naturally for Dr. Pitzer and she feels as if this was her calling in life. Prior to completing veterinary school, Dr. Pitzer was a veterinary assistant for many years at Miller Animal Hospital in Folsom, Louisiana, where she learned about this profession firsthand from Dr. Normie Miller. She was also an assistant at LSU School of Veterinary Medicine in the Equine Hospital. After many years of dedication to college and upon completion of her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine Degree, she then moved to Florida to practice at Pace Veterinary Clinic, a high volume, high quality, Multi-Doctor small animal clinic. She has also done Externships in Las Vegas and New Orleans, where she worked alongside and received mentorship from a multitude of Doctors. After being in Florida for some time gaining new experience Dr. Pitzer decided to move back to Louisiana, where she was a Relief Veterinarian at multiple veterinary clinics in Southeast Louisiana, where she worked on all species of animals. She then decided to venture out on her own and open the doors of HOPE Veterinary Clinic in October 2017. Dr. Pitzer has a wide array of experience in medical and surgical case management.
